The available position is an entry-level Driver Trainee role essential to PFG's logistical operations. This role is designed for individuals seeking to start or advance their careers in commercial driving, particularly operating tractor trailers or straight trucks. As a Driver Trainee, you will receive extensive training through PFG's Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training programs, gaining hands-on experience driving local, shuttle, overnight, or over-the-road routes safely and efficiently. The role requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards, emphasizing a culture of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities include assisting the assigned driver trainer, completing all required safety and vehicle inspections, verifying freight loading and delivery accuracy, and maintaining precise documentation. Communication with customers, vendors, and co-workers must be consistently professional, supporting excellent customer service and teamwork. This position offers a $400 per day pay rate, with work scheduled Monday through Saturday (4 to 5 days per week) covering local routes with occasional overnight stays. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus, subject to terms and eligibility criteria.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- valid CDL A license
- minimum 21 years of age
- meet state certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report for past three years
- six plus months commercial driving experience
- pass post offer drug test
- pass road test
- valid current DOT health card
- ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases weighing approximately 60 to 90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- six plus months of commercial driving experience
- valid CDL A
- minimum age of 21 years
- meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- clean motor vehicle report for past three years
- pass post offer drug test
- pass road test
- attain or have valid current DOT health card
- ability to hand-lift and use equipment such as two-wheeler, lift gate to move or stack product cases of varying sizes and weights
Job Duties
- Attend and successfully complete PFG Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program
- ride with and assist driver trainer in executing deliveries
- perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer
- report all safety issues and repairs required
- follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies
- inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- perform count check of items and verify customer invoices
- complete accurate and legible paperwork associated with freight
- drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- unload products and transport items into customer storage areas
- perform damage control checks and contact supervisor about order removals
- verify delivery with customer and obtain proper signatures
- collect cash or check payments where required
- load customer returns and secure trailer doors
- ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured at all times
- unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
- remove trash from trailers and perform general housekeeping duties
- complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log per Federal DOT and company requirements
- secure all equipment and complete paperwork at end of shift
- perform other related duties as assigned
