Known for its deep commitment to customer service and operational support, Performance Foodservice maintains a unique relationship with its clients by offering not only food products but valuable expertise. Their team comprises sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other professionals who work collaboratively to provide advice on improving operations, menu development, product selections, and operational strategies. This holistic approach to foodservice distribution has made Performance Foodservice a trusted partner among independent restaurant owners and foodservice operators aiming to grow and succeed in their businesses.

The role of the Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Performance Foodservice is integral to the success of the country's food supply chain. This position, based out of Omaha, involves ensuring that food and product deliveries arrive on time, in excellent condition, and are handled professionally, reflecting the company’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the transportation and food distribution industry. The position pays $22 per hour during training with potential earnings estimated between $75,000 and $100,000 annually after component pay training completion. Working hours include a mix of local and overnight routes, and the company provides stipends for overnight shifts to support the convenience and livelihood of its drivers. Vendor and customer interaction is a key component of the role, highlighting the importance of communication and relationship-building to the company's overall success.

As a Driver Trainee, associates will participate in comprehensive training programs such as the Entry Level Driver Trainee or Dock to Driver Training Program. Trainees will gain hands-on experience hauling freight and operating tractor-trailers under the guidance of experienced driver trainers. This on-the-job learning includes performing safety checks, following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, inspecting vehicles and freight, logging hours of service, and ensuring paperwork accuracy. Safety is paramount in this role; drivers are expected to report any hazards immediately. Additionally, drivers manage responsibilities like loading and unloading products, verifying deliveries, collecting payments where necessary, and maintaining cleanliness in their vehicles and work areas.

Performance Foodservice offers a supportive, safe, and inclusive working environment that values rewards, recognition, and respect. Employees benefit from competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, including health and wellness coverage from day one, an employee stock purchase plan, employer 401K matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more.
