Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CDL Class A driver’s license
- Minimum two years of truck driving experience
- Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
- Strong communication skills
- Basic math skills including adding, subtracting, and measuring
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to use hands and arms for handling and reaching
- Capable of standing, sitting, walking, climbing, and balancing
- Visual acuity including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Job Qualifications
- CDL Class A driver’s license
- Completed truck driving courses with certificate of completion
- At least two years related experience and/or training
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups
- Ability to add and subtract and read a tape measure
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Knowledge or willingness to learn Eroad software
Job Duties
- Actively participate in Seaport Steel safety program
- Check boards for loads
- Inspect truck
- Inspect material ensuring it matches shipping paperwork
- Decide if the load is road ready
- Adjust load for safety and availability
- Secure load
- Deliver and pick up material based on the routing
