Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent degree
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- At least 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred
- Completion of a tractor trailer driving school accepted
- Must be insurable to operate company vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 350 pounds using hand cart
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as needed
- Ability to communicate in English including reading, writing, and speaking
- Ability to comply with DOT regulations and food safety protocols
- Must have good vision including color and peripheral vision
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions including extreme cold and heat
- Physical ability to climb in and out of vehicles and operate delivery equipment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent degree preferred
- Completion of tractor trailer driving school accepted in lieu of or alongside high school diploma
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Insurable to operate commercial vehicles
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hazmat guidelines
- Skilled in driving tractor trailers over long distances and various conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and management
- Ability to meet or exceed company productivity standards
- Ability to operate equipment including 3 axle tractors, trailers, straight trucks, on-board computers, and hand carts
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English sufficient for safety and regulatory compliance
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to plan and organize work independently
- Experience with food and restaurant item handling
Job Duties
- Safely transports product from the warehouse to customer locations according to assigned routes
- Unloads product by hand or hand cart following customer specifications and company standards
- Picks up, loads, and unloads damaged goods and customer returns, transporting them back to the warehouse
- Completes all required paperwork accurately including DOT logs, vehicle inspections, and delivery invoices
- Ensures food safety protocols are adhered to including proper temperature maintenance and prevention of cross-contamination
- Maintains and safely operates assigned equipment such as hand carts, load bars, and personal protective equipment
- Develops and maintains positive customer relationships through excellent communication and service
- Communicates route deviations, trailer or loading issues, and customer/product concerns with management
- Works assigned schedules including overnight, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Follows all safety practices and immediately reports unsafe conditions
- Exhibits regular and predictable attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
