This opportunity is for a Delivery Driver role based in Columbus, OH, with no required travel beyond the local routes. Drivers typically run 2-4 routes per week and have a significant earning potential, with first-year drivers earning up to $95,000 annually and top earners making up to $130,000. The pay rate ranges from $10.00 to $48.00 per hour depending on skills, experience, and other factors. The position comes with paid training and emphasizes that the more you drive, the more you can earn. Drivers will be responsible for transporting product safely and efficiently from the warehouse using a tractor trailer, ensuring correct delivery and unloading of goods according to company and customer standards.
The job demands adherence to food safety protocols, handling of frozen, dry, and refrigerated items, and inspecting deliveries for damages. Drivers are expected to maintain sanitary conditions both in their equipment and at the warehouse. Job Requirements
- High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree
- Minimum 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience
- Completion of tractor trailer driving school accepted
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Must be insurable to operate vehicle
- Ability to handle hazardous materials
- Ability to read and speak English
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Ability to work overnight schedule including weekends, holidays, overtime, on-call
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 350 pounds with a hand cart
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED/equivalent degree or completion of tractor trailer driving school
- Minimum of 1 year verifiable tractor trailer driving experience
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Basic math skills including add, subtract, multiply, divide
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway signs, converse with public and make entries on reports
- Ability to drive tractor-trailer in day and night under various traffic and weather conditions
- Ability to handle hazardous materials and operate 3 axle tractor, 45'-48' trailer, straight truck, onboard computer, keypad and two-wheel hand cart
Job Duties
- Unload product from trailer by hand or using a hand cart down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions, place product in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards
- Complete all paperwork according to company and governmental guidelines including DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, vehicle maintenance reports, and pre- and post-trip reports
- Ensure all invoices are accurate, damages and shortages reported promptly
- Follow food safety protocols including maintaining proper temperatures in the delivery vehicle, inspecting products for visible damage, and preventing cross contamination
- Maintain sanitary conditions in tractor, trailer, warehouse, and yard
- Develop and establish good relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service with clear communication
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
