Job Description
Performance Food Group Customized Distribution (PFG Customized Distribution) is a premier food service distribution company catering to some of America’s most recognized national chain restaurants such as Cracker Barrel, TGI Friday’s, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, and Ruby Tuesday. The company specializes in providing customized attention, centralized contacts for product lines, menu changes, and account coordination. Serving customers across the United States and in more than 40 countries, PFG Customized Distribution plays a vital role in ensuring that restaurants receive timely and accurate deliveries of their food and food-related products. Known for its commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, PFG Customized is part of the larger Performance Food Group, which is dedicated to supporting the nation’s food distribution system with reliable and responsive service.
The company is opening a new location in Fresno, CA in 2026 and is actively seeking qualified candidates to join their team as CDL-A Drivers under the Formula program. The position is a critical role within the food supply chain, responsible for the safe and timely delivery of fresh and perishable food products. This role involves a combination of solo and team routes, including out-of-state layovers twice per week, and requires possession of an interstate commercial driver’s license without K restrictions. Drivers will operate newer automatic trucks and equipment, engaging in ramp work and handling touch freight and mixed pallets. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and operational excellence to maintain the high standards of the company. Drivers will be compensated with a weekly minimum pay of $1,540 while on route, along with competitive benefits including Day 1 health and wellness coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off.
The CDL-A Driver role at PFG Customized Distribution requires thorough knowledge and compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and company safety policies. Drivers perform essential safety checks such as pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractors and trailers, ensure freight is properly loaded and secured, and handle delivery documentation accurately. They serve as the face of the company during deliveries, interacting professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers to build lasting relationships and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities also include unloading products, verifying deliveries, collecting payments when applicable, and maintaining cleanliness and security of equipment throughout the shift. This role offers significant growth opportunities and is essential in supporting America’s food distribution infrastructure within a safe and inclusive working environment that values rewards, recognition, and mutual respect. PFG Customized Distribution prides itself on fostering a culture where drivers are empowered and supported in their career development while contributing to a mission-critical operation that feeds the nation.
