With a customer base spread across the United States and more than 40 countries, PFG Customized Distribution offers centralized account coordination, customized attention to product lines, and support for menu changes to streamline operations and ensure timely delivery. The company is known for fostering a safe and inclusive work environment where employees feel rewarded, recognized, and respected. They focus heavily on growth opportunities and employee wellness, offering competitive pay and benefits including health benefits from day one, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and generous paid time off. This ensures that employees are supported both professionally and personally while playing an essential role in America's food distribution system.
The CDL-A Driver position is vital within PFG Customized Distribution as these drivers serve as the crucial link in the supply chain, delivering food and foodservice products safely and efficiently to customers. This role requires driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, including over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight drive and drop routes. The typical routes span 3 to 4 days, and the position demands availability for overnight shifts, with the benefit of being home weekly. The CDL-A Driver is not only responsible for the timely delivery and unloading of goods but also acts as the face of the company by building lasting relationships with customers and ensuring high service standards.
Safety and compliance are top priorities in this role. Drivers perform all required safety checks according to Department of Transportation regulations, ensuring the tractor, trailer, and freight meet all safety standards before and after trips. They must adhere to DOT guidelines and company policies for safe driving, report any safety hazards immediately, and maintain accurate records including hours of service logs. The job entails verifying and securing freight, conducting damage control on delivered products, completing all necessary paperwork diligently, and performing general housekeeping duties in and around the vehicle and loading docks. Attention to detail, professionalism when communicating with customers and coworkers, and teamwork are essential traits for success in this role.
In addition to a competitive salary of up to $90,000 yearly with bi-weekly pay, employees benefit from flexible scheduling options. The company encourages continuous growth and development, offering opportunities for advancement within the organization. PFG Customized Distribution emphasizes an environment where employees can thrive, contribute meaningfully to the community, and be recognized for their contributions. This role suits motivated, safety-conscious individuals with experience in commercial driving who are looking for a rewarding and stable career in the foodservice logistics field.
