As a pioneer in the natural and organic food industry, UNFI has been at the forefront of transforming the grocery wholesale market, continuously adapting to the dynamic needs of customers and the evolving retail landscape. With over 29,000 committed employees nationwide across 58 distribution centers and corporate offices, UNFI offers a stimulating and growth-oriented workplace for those passionate about food distribution and logistics. The company prides itself on its dedication to innovation, customer service excellence, and sustainability, contributing significantly to the advancement of the grocery wholesale sector.
The CDL A Delivery Driver role in Mechanicsville, PA, is a critical position that supports UNFI’s mission to deliver high-quality food products efficiently and safely to retailers across various states. This position requires a driver to hold a valid Class A CDL and have a minimum of 12 months’ experience in tractor-trailer operation. As a Delivery Driver, you will be entrusted with the safe and timely delivery of both conventional and specialty products to UNFI’s corporate and independent retail customers. Your responsibilities will include performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and company policies, and accurately handling delivery documentation. The role demands excellent judgment, especially as drivers may often operate independently without direct supervision. You will be expected to maintain delivery schedules precisely, manage trip data entry into onboard computers, and complete paperwork such as timecards and logs when needed.
In addition to operational duties, the position requires physical stamina, including the ability to sit for extended periods and the capacity to lift cases weighing up to 90 pounds when assisting customers with deliveries. Strong customer service skills are essential to represent UNFI professionally and to foster positive relationships with retail clients. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required to meet the diverse scheduling needs of the business. This role offers an opportunity for professional drivers to join a respected industry leader, contribute to the supply chain of essential grocery products, and help sustain the health and convenience of communities throughout the region. Compensation and benefits are competitive and reflective of the critical nature of the job and the dedication of UNFI’s workforce.
