The role of a US Foods Driver is an essential position that contributes to the company’s mission to help customers make it by ensuring timely and safe delivery of food products. This full-time position offers competitive pay estimated between $35 and $37 per hour, with possible overtime compensation. The typical work schedule runs Monday through Saturday with shift start times ranging between 2 AM and 6 AM, reflecting the operational needs of the business.

Drivers at US Foods are entrusted with driving trucks safely to meet delivery deadlines while handling and unloading products with care. The job demands physical endurance, including the ability to lift and carry heavy items consistently during the shift, as well as the capacity to work in varying weather conditions with frequent stops. In addition to logistics duties, drivers are also required to verify order accuracy, collect payments when necessary, and maintain proper documentation through pre- and post-trip equipment inspections.

US Foods Driver candidates must meet specific requirements such as having a valid CDL Class A license with the necessary endorsements and a registered status on the FMCSA Clearinghouse, which monitors driver compliance with federal drug and alcohol regulations. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and possess a minimum of six months commercial driving experience in any industry or at least three months in food or beverage delivery. The ability to communicate in English effectively and handle manual transmissions in certain locations is preferred.

Job Requirements

  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
