Job Description
US Foods is one of America’s leading foodservice distributors, dedicated to helping its customers make it by providing innovative products and services that shape the communities where they operate. With a focus on integrity, reliability, and building trusting relationships, US Foods plays a vital role in the foodservice industry, supporting restaurants, healthcare facilities, government operations, and other foodservice providers. The company values its associates and drivers as essential contributors to its mission and upholds a culture based on strong work ethic, collaboration, and service excellence. US Foods offers a wide range of opportunities for skilled and forward-thinking individuals to grow their careers within a supportive environment.
The US Foods Driver position is a key role responsible for safely delivering products to customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, and providing exceptional customer service. Drivers are an important face of the organization, responsible for maintaining professionalism on and off the road while fostering positive relationships with clients. This role offers a competitive base pay ranging from $24.87 to $58.00 per hour depending on experience, location, and qualifications. Additional compensation may include overtime, retention bonuses such as the $5,000 retention bonus for new hires, and other incentive pay based on mileage, stops, or cases delivered. The typical schedule for drivers involves Sunday night through Friday shifts with occasional Saturday morning returns, and offers flexibility with 4 or 5-day workweeks and two to three days off during the week. Routes usually dispatch between 10 PM and 3 AM. Drivers must be willing to perform team routes and layover routes as needed.
The job requires the ability to safely operate commercial trucks while adhering to pre-trip and post-trip inspection protocols. Drivers will unload products using equipment such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, verify delivery accuracy with customers, handle payment collections when applicable, and contribute to a positive customer experience by providing professional service. Physical demands include frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of heavy products weighing 20 to 80+ pounds, and working in various weather conditions with multiple stops each shift. Additionally, candidates must be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse as mandated by the Department of Transportation and possess a valid Class A CDL with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
US Foods is committed to Total Rewards that recognize and reward the dedication and hard work of their associates, including comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated commercial drivers seeking a stable and rewarding career with a respected company focused on supporting their employees and delivering excellence to customers.
