This role of a US Foods driver is critical to the company's success in delivering high-quality products to its customers. As a US Foods driver, you will play a hands-on role in ensuring safe, timely deliveries while maintaining professional relationships with customers. The position offers a competitive starting wage of 35 dollars per hour, with a Monday through Saturday work schedule and guaranteed days off on Sunday plus one or two weekdays. Drivers start their shifts early, typically at 4 AM, and benefit from a strong safety culture and extensive benefits commencing from the first day of employment.

The primary responsibilities include operating commercial vehicles safely to transport food products, unloading deliveries efficiently using equipment such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, and verifying delivery accuracy by obtaining customer signatures. You will also handle collections and payments when necessary, contributing directly to the company's cash flow and customer service excellence. Pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles are mandatory to ensure safety standards are maintained.

Physical stamina is required, as the job involves lifting and moving heavy products repeatedly during the shift, often in varying weather conditions. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors, making frequent stops throughout their routes. Additionally, drivers must be familiar with regulations and hold a valid CDL Class A license with appropriate endorsements and comply with DOT qualifications.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry
  • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
