Job Description
US Foods is one of America's leading foodservice distributors, dedicated to providing a wide range of food products and services that help shape the communities where we live and work. As a top company in the food distribution industry, US Foods supports restaurants, healthcare facilities, hospitality organizations, and other businesses that rely on fresh and quality ingredients daily. Our culture is built on integrity, collaboration, and service, fostering an environment where skilled and forward-thinking associates thrive. With a strong commitment to Total Rewards, we respect and reward our associates for their dedication and hard work, ensuring they have the tools and benefits needed to succeed both professionally and personally.
We are currently seeking dedicated and professional Delivery Drivers to join our team. This role is vital to our operation and the face of US Foods to many customers. Delivery Drivers play a crucial role in ensuring that products reach our customers safely, accurately, and on time. Starting at $36.64 per hour with a scheduled pay increase to $39.00 per hour after one year, this position offers competitive wages and opportunities for annual wage increases, making it an appealing career choice. Top earners can make upwards of $125,000 annually with overtime, and once at top pay, drivers average over $105,000 per year while working a four-day workweek. We also provide low-cost benefits that begin from Day 1, including medical, dental, vision, 401K with enhanced company contributions, life insurance, and participation in our Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
The schedule is structured to support work-life balance, with a Monday through Friday workweek comprising four workdays and one scheduled on-call day. Drivers typically dispatch between 3:00 AM and 5:30 AM, working 10 or more-hour shifts until deliveries are complete. Safety is paramount at US Foods, and we maintain a strong safety culture backed by excellent local leadership and support from management.
In this position, drivers are expected to operate trucks responsibly, meeting scheduled delivery times while safely handling products. Drivers will unload merchandise using tools such as two-wheelers or pallet jacks, verify delivery accuracy with customers, collect payments when necessary, and uphold high standards of customer service. Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections are mandatory to ensure equipment is in optimal condition. Physical demands include the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 20 to 80+ pounds repeatedly throughout shifts and working in various weather conditions with frequent stops.
Applicants must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a Department of Transportation requirement, ensuring compliance with drug and alcohol regulations relevant to commercial drivers. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements, and have either six months of commercial driving experience or three months within food or beverage delivery.
At US Foods, we believe in helping our drivers make it by providing the support, training, and benefits needed for a successful and rewarding career. Joining our team means becoming part of an organization committed to growth, safety, and community impact.
