They serve as the face of the company and build strong, long-lasting relationships with customers through professional and courteous interactions. This role requires adherence to strict safety and regulatory standards, including Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, due to the critical nature of transporting food and food-related products.

The work schedule involves 10 to 12-hour shifts, four to five days per week, with no Sunday work. Drivers are dispatched between midnight and 5 AM depending on their assigned routes. The position demands physical strength and stamina, as drivers must hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to move and stack product cases weighing from 10 to as much as 90 pounds depending on location.

In addition to driving duties, the role encompasses conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance with company and DOT standards. Drivers also manage paperwork, verify loads against customer invoices, unload and load freight, collect payments when necessary, and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of their vehicles and work areas.
