Performance Foodservice (PFG) is a leading broadline foodservice distributor that plays a vital role in supporting America's diverse food distribution network. The company is known for forging strong relationships with a wide range of local customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. PFG's team is composed of experienced sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other professionals who provide guidance on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. This comprehensive approach not only delivers quality food but also supports independent restaurant owners and other clients in achieving their business goals and dreams.

PFG operates with a deep commitment to inclusivity, respect, and employee well-being, fostering a culture that values rewards, recognition, and professional growth. Employees at PFG benefit from competitive pay and an attractive array of benefits from day one, including health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more. The company also provides a safe work environment and an encouraging atmosphere aimed at developing skills and career advancement opportunities in an essential industry.

The role of Driver Trainee is an entry-level position focused on developing driving skills for intrastate and interstate routes using tractor trailers or straight trucks. These routes may be local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, or overnight, and the responsibilities require adherence to all Safety and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Trainees will learn through hands-on experience while riding with driver trainers, assisting with deliveries, and performing safety inspections. The role demands a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and customer service to ensure timely, secure delivery of food and related products.

The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays, and dispatch times vary predominantly from midnight to 8 a.m., with most routes starting between 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. This position offers an opportunity to join a reputable company that supports the essential food distribution system and promotes a team-oriented, respectful work environment. PFG focuses on helping team members grow professionally while contributing to the critical supply chain that connects food producers with end consumers. This role is perfect for individuals looking to start or advance their trucking careers with strong support and structured training programs, including entry-level and dock-to-driver training paths.

Overall, joining Performance Foodservice as a Driver Trainee offers a rewarding career opportunity in the logistics and transportation industry, backed by a respected company committed to equal employment opportunity and compliance with all federal and state regulations.
