Job Description
Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group (PFG), operates as a broadline foodservice distributor with a distinctive connection to a diverse range of local customers. These include independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The company’s dedicated team comprises sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other industry experts who collaborate closely to provide customers with valuable advice on improving their operations, developing menus, selecting the right products, and devising effective operational strategies. Beyond simply delivering high-quality food products, Performance Foodservice prides itself on supporting independent restaurant owners by fostering growth and helping them achieve their business goals.
As a well-established leader in the food distribution industry, Performance Foodservice is committed to excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction. The company offers a comprehensive work environment that emphasizes respect, inclusiveness, rewards, and recognition. With a strong focus on employee support through competitive pay, benefits starting from day one including health and wellness options, employee stock purchase plans, 401K matching, education assistance, and paid time off, Performance Foodservice presents a compelling career opportunity for individuals seeking stability and growth in the foodservice logistics sector.
The CDL-A Delivery Driver position is a vital role within this dynamic organization. This role requires professional individuals who are not only skilled at operating a tractor trailer or straight truck but who also embody the company’s values by building lasting relationships with customers. Operating on routes that may include intrastate, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop, delivery drivers are critical to ensuring that food and related products arrive accurately, safely, and on schedule. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with early morning dispatches, the advantage of being home daily, and a competitive pay package averaging $80,000 annually, along with a $10,000 sign-on bonus subject to terms.
The role demands strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Drivers perform pre- and post-trip inspections, manage loading and unloading procedures, verify deliveries, and handle related paperwork and customer interactions professionally. Thoroughness in safety checks, cargo security, and accurate documentation ensures productivity and compliance. Drivers are also expected to undertake general housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and order within delivery equipment and facilities. This position is essential not just for delivery but as an ambassador representing Performance Foodservice's commitment to quality, safety, and superior customer service in the food distribution supply chain.
