This commitment to service excellence helps independent restaurant owners and other clients achieve their goals and run successful businesses. The company is recognized for its inclusive and supportive workplace culture, prioritizing employee well-being, growth opportunities, and safety.

The CDL-A Driver position at Performance Foodservice is a critical role within the company’s logistics and distribution operations. This role involves safely and efficiently delivering food and food service products as part of the essential supply chain supporting America’s food distribution system. Drivers work the early morning dispatch shift from 3 am to 5 am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with the convenience of returning home daily. The position offers a competitive annual salary averaging $73,000 and includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus, subject to terms. As the face of the company, CDL-A Drivers build lasting relationships with customers by ensuring that deliveries arrive on time, in good condition, and according to planned schedules.

Key responsibilities include operating tractor-trailer or straight trucks for various route types, including local, intrastate, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes. Drivers are responsible for conducting thorough pre- and post-trip safety inspections following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, maintaining safety records, securing freight, and handling delivery paperwork accurately. They also interact professionally with customers and vendors, ensuring customer questions and concerns are addressed promptly. This position demands physical stamina for lifting and moving freight up to 90 pounds, proper use of equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Performance Foodservice provides a safe and inclusive workplace, emphasizing a culture of recognition, respect, and employee engagement. Benefits start from day one and include health and wellness programs, an employee stock purchase plan, 401(k) employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and other valuable incentives.
