As one of the largest food distributors, US Foods supports the vibrant foodservice community by offering excellent training programs and fostering a supportive work environment that enhances both employee development and customer satisfaction. The company prides itself on helping its customers "Make It" by delivering quality products and services that shape local communities, while also cultivating a collaborative and service-oriented workplace culture that values integrity, reliability, and mutual respect. US Foods offers competitive compensation packages and comprehensive benefits, making it an attractive employer for individuals seeking stable and rewarding careers in logistics and foodservice delivery.
This role is a local driver position at US Foods, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in the food distribution industry. Drivers begin at a competitive hourly wage starting at $31.93, with additional overtime pay opportunities. The schedule is designed to provide a balanced work-life dynamic, featuring a Monday through Friday routine with weekends off, a four-day work week, and early morning start times between 3 AM and 6 AM. Employees in this position will typically work 45 hours per week and enjoy the benefit of returning home daily. Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and life insurance coverage for the entire family, are available from day one.
As a US Foods driver, the primary responsibility is to safely deliver food products to customers on schedule while adhering to company safety and operational procedures. Drivers will be expected to carefully unload deliveries using equipment such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, verify the accuracy of each order with customers, and obtain required signatures. Additional duties include handling collections and payments when applicable and providing courteous, professional customer service to enhance the overall client experience. Drivers must conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of their equipment to ensure safety and compliance, and they must be prepared to work in varying weather conditions with frequent stops throughout their routes.
Ideal candidates for this position will be at least 21 years old and possess a valid CDL Class A license with the necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications. A minimum of six months of commercial driving experience in any industry or three months specifically in food or beverage delivery is required. Additionally, drivers must be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a federal database tracking drug and alcohol program violations for commercial drivers. Proficiency in English is necessary for effective communication, understanding highway signs, and completing required documentation. While the ability to operate a manual transmission is preferred and may be required in specific locations, safety and reliability remain the foremost priorities.
Joining US Foods as a driver means becoming a vital part of a team that values integrity and fosters trusting relationships with its customers. The company nurtures a culture based on strong ethical principles, teamwork, and continuous improvement, supporting employees with competitive pay, robust benefits, and numerous opportunities for growth and advancement. This position offers a stable and rewarding career path for motivated individuals passionate about serving their community and contributing to the success of a leader in the foodservice industry.
