Job Description

Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company, is a prominent leader in the distribution of fresh and broad-line solutions to the convenience retail industry. As part of a Fortune 150 company, Core-Mark has established a robust presence in North America with over $23 billion in revenue. Known for its commitment to empowering customers, employees, and communities, Core-Mark operates multiple distribution centers across the United States and Canada, providing an extensive range of products, programs, and solutions tailored to meet the needs of its convenience retail partners. The company prides itself on fostering a safe and inclusive working environment that promotes rewards, recognition, and respect, ensuring every team member feels valued and supported.

At Core-Mark, the role of Food and Food Service Delivery Driver is critical to the nation's food supply chain. Delivery drivers play a pivotal role in ensuring that food products arrive safely, timely, and in optimal condition to customers, embodying the company's commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction. This position offers competitive pay, with drivers earning between $75,000 to $85,000 annually, compensated for every stop, load, and mile covered during workdays. The role includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus distributed in increments over nine months, a schedule from Sunday to Thursday with four working days plus one day on-call, and flexible dispatch times.

The primary responsibility involves operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes, adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Drivers must conduct comprehensive safety inspections before and after trips, ensuring vehicles meet safety standards and any issues or repairs are promptly reported. Accurate and legible documentation of freight and deliveries, effective communication with customers and vendors, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of equipment and loading areas are essential aspects of the job.

In addition to technical driving skills, drivers at Core-Mark are seen as the face of the company, requiring strong interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships with customers and contribute positively to the team environment. This position offers substantial growth opportunities within the company, particularly for those committed to supporting America’s vital food distribution system. Core-Mark supports its employees with day-one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and more. This role is a valuable opportunity for individuals seeking a stable, rewarding career with a respected leader in the food distribution industry.
