The Delivery Driver position at US Foods offers an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the team that ensures customers receive timely and safe deliveries. This position operates on a schedule from Monday to Saturday, providing two days off per week with varied start times between 10 PM and 6 AM. Drivers can expect to work 10 to 12 hours daily and approximately 50 to 55 hours per week, with overtime available as needed to accommodate business demands.

Starting at $35.78 per hour, plus overtime compensation after 40 hours, this role not only offers competitive pay but also provides various benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and life insurance. Delivery Drivers are responsible for safely driving trucks to customers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of deliveries, and providing excellent customer service to enhance client satisfaction. They must be comfortable operating manual transmission vehicles in certain locations and working in all weather conditions, handling physical tasks such as lifting and carrying heavy products repeatedly during each shift.

In addition to driving and delivery duties, successful candidates must conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards. Strong communication skills in English are essential to effectively interact with customers, read highway signs, and complete necessary records. Registration with the FMCSA Clearinghouse is mandatory to comply with Department of Transportation regulations, ensuring that all commercial drivers meet drug and alcohol program requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum six months commercial driving experience or three months food/beverage delivery driving experience
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively
  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
  • Ability to read and communicate in the English language

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
