The CDL-A Driver role at Performance Foodservice is a critical position within the company's operations, integral to the seamless distribution of food and food-related products across various routes that may include intrastate, interstate, local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. This position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $100,000 plus annually, with uncapped pay potential, quarterly safety bonuses, and substantial referral incentives. Drivers benefit from a 4- or 5-day work week, with options for additional workdays and up to two nights away from home per week, supported by per diem and overnight compensation. Additionally, a $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for drivers who meet the experience criteria.

This role demands a highly responsible individual who will serve not only as a punctual and reliable transporter of goods but also as a personable representative of the company. Drivers must ensure that all deliveries occur safely, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining communication with customers and colleagues in a professional manner. Duties include conducting thorough tractor and trailer safety inspections, adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, verifying freight loads against documentation, securing cargo appropriately, and performing unloading tasks when necessary.
