The role of a US Foods Driver offers an exciting career opportunity with a company at the forefront of the foodservice distribution industry. Drivers play an essential role in the supply chain by ensuring timely and safe delivery of food products to customers. The typical schedule for this position involves routes running Monday through Saturday, with early morning start times usually between 3 AM and 6 AM. An important note about this position is a planned relocation for the role to Aurora, Illinois, slated for mid-2026. US Foods offers compensation that varies based on relevant experience, education, specific job skills, and geographic location, with an expected base rate between $35.89 and $39.88 per hour for this role. As a US Foods Driver, individuals will be responsible for safely driving trucks to customers and meeting scheduled delivery times, ensuring the accuracy of deliveries by verifying with customers and obtaining the proper signatures. Drivers are expected to carefully unload products using equipment such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, or by hand, placing them in designated storage areas at customer locations. Pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections are mandatory to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. The position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products weighing between 20 to over 80 pounds repetitively throughout the shift. Additionally, drivers must be comfortable working in various weather conditions and making multiple stops per shift.

US Foods requires all drivers to register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a Department of Transportation database that provides real-time information about commercial driver license holders' drug and alcohol program violations. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid CDL Class A license issued by their state of residence, complete with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications. While six months of commercial driving experience in any industry is required, preference is given to those with three months of commercial driving experience in the food or beverage delivery sectors. The ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is preferred and may be necessary in specific locations. Strong communication skills in English are essential, enabling drivers to understand highway traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete required documentation accurately.

Job Duties
