The Delivery Driver role at US Foods is a key position responsible for safely transporting food products to a variety of customers within a designated delivery route. This position requires a dependable individual who can efficiently manage time schedules while delivering excellent customer service. Drivers operate large commercial vehicles, comply with Department of Transportation regulations, and maintain the highest safety standards. The role operates Monday through Saturday, offering two days off per week with start times that vary between 10 PM and 6 AM. This position offers a competitive starting hourly wage of $35.78 plus overtime pay after 40 hours. The role demands physical strength to lift and move heavy products ranging from 20 to over 80 pounds repeatedly during each shift, along with comfort working in varying weather conditions with frequent stops. The driver is expected to unload products using tools such as pallet jacks or two-wheelers and place item deliveries in proper storage locations at customer sites. Accurate verification of deliveries through customer signatures and responsible management of collections and payments, when applicable, are vital functions of this position.
Being a US Foods Delivery Driver also means upholding the company’s cultural beliefs of integrity, reliability, and relationship-building with customers. The driver not only acts as a representative of US Foods but also contributes to the company’s success by ensuring timely, accurate, and professional service. Furthermore, technical skills such as performing pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and maintaining DOT qualifications are part of the daily responsibilities. Compliance with mandatory registration to the FMCSA Clearinghouse to monitor drivers' drug and alcohol program violations is compulsory.
US Foods values its drivers highly and offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
