The employment is full-time, with routes running Monday through Saturday, typically with start times between 3 AM and 6 AM. There is an important announcement that the position will relocate to Aurora, Illinois, in mid-2026. Compensation for this role varies depending on experience, education, relevant skills, and location, with an expected base rate ranging from $35.89 to $39.88 per hour. US Foods Drivers will be responsible for safely driving company trucks to customers, ensuring deliveries are made within scheduled times, and verifying delivery accuracy by obtaining customer signatures. The drivers will carefully unload products using equipment such as a two-wheeler or pallet jack, or manually when necessary, placing goods in designated customer storage areas. Drivers must also handle cash collections and payments as applicable and provide professional customer service to enhance client satisfaction.

Safety and equipment maintenance are priorities. Drivers are required to perform all necessary pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections to ensure vehicles are in proper working order for safe operation. The role demands a strong physical capability, as drivers must frequently lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing between 20 to over 80 pounds during each shift. The ability to work in challenging weather conditions and make frequent stops—often more than ten per shift—is essential.

To be eligible for the driver role at US Foods, candidates must register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, a secure online database that tracks commercial driver’s license holders’ drug and alcohol program violations. This is a mandatory federal requirement. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid Class A CDL issued by their state of legal residence, including the necessary endorsements and Department of Transportation qualifications.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six months of commercial driving experience in any industry or at least three months specifically in food and/or beverage delivery. The ability to operate a manual transmission is preferred and may be required depending on the location. Proficiency in English is necessary for effective communication, understanding highway traffic signs and signals, responding to official inquiries, and completing reports and records.
