Job Description

Core-Mark is a leading distributor in the convenience retail industry and a proud member of the Fortune 150 Performance Food Group company. With over $23 billion in revenue, Core-Mark has established itself as a trusted partner in delivering fresh and broad-line solutions to customers across the United States and Canada. The company operates multiple distribution centers that offer a comprehensive range of products, programs, and innovative solutions, aiming to empower its customers, employees, and communities. Core-Mark is widely recognized for its commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and fostering a culture of respect, growth, and safety among its workforce.

This role is designed for dedicated Food and Food Service Delivery Drivers who play a vital role in America’s food supply chain. The position offers competitive annual earnings ranging from $80,000 to $100,000+, subject to discussion during the interview process. Working Monday through Friday with local routes ensures drivers are home nightly and enjoy weekends off, creating an excellent work-life balance for those in the role. Drivers typically start their shifts early, around 6:00 a.m., though exact start times will be discussed during the interview. This position not only involves the timely delivery of food products but emphasizes the importance of building lasting relationships with customers as the face of Core-Mark.

As a driver, you will be responsible for operating tractor trailers or straight trucks along intrastate, interstate, local, shuttle, and overnight routes. This includes drive-and-drop routes to deliver and unload food and food-related products safely and compliantly, following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations rigorously. Drivers are expected to perform all safety inspections on their vehicles and trailers before and after trips and ensure all freight is correctly loaded, secured, and documented. Responsibilities include maintaining detailed and legible paperwork associated with freight, communicating professionally with customers and vendors, and ensuring all deliveries are verified and signed by recipients.

The role requires drivers to handle various tasks such as loading customer returns, controlling damage, and managing cash or check collections when required. It also includes performing daily hours of service logs in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations. Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the tractor, trailer, and loading dock area is equally important to ensure safety and operational efficiency. Core-Mark fosters a safe and inclusive work environment that emphasizes safety, quality customer service, and teamwork. Employees benefit from various perks, including day one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401k employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off.

This is an exceptional opportunity for motivated individuals who enjoy driving, value customer service, and want to work for a renowned company committed to employee well-being and career growth. Core-Mark offers a rewarding career with growth opportunities, continuous learning, and a respectful culture where your contributions directly support the vital food distribution system that feeds America daily. Join Core-Mark and help deliver the goods essential to communities nationwide while building a successful career and enjoying a work schedule that respects your home life.
