The role of a US Foods Driver is pivotal in maintaining the company's promise of timely and reliable delivery services. This is a full-time position, typically involving early morning shifts with start times between 3 AM and 6 AM, running Monday through Saturday. The job will initially be based in the current location but will relocate to Aurora, Illinois, by mid-2026. The compensation for this role is competitive and ranges between $35.89 and $39.88 per hour, depending on factors like experience, education, and geographic location.
As a US Foods Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating trucks to deliver food products to customer locations while adhering to scheduled delivery times. This includes meticulous loading and unloading of goods using equipment such as two-wheelers and pallet jacks, as well as manual handling where necessary. You will verify delivery accuracy, obtain required signatures, and manage collections or payments when applicable. Providing excellent customer service is a critical component of this role to enhance client satisfaction and support ongoing business growth.
Drivers are required to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. Physical demands include lifting or moving heavy products from 20 to over 80 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift and operating in various weather conditions with frequent stops. Safety, reliability, and professionalism are essential as you represent US Foods on the road and in customer interactions.
US Foods emphasizes compliance with federal regulations, including mandatory registration to the FMCSA Clearinghouse—a secure database that monitors commercial driver's license holders for drug and alcohol program violations. This position requires the driver to be at least 21 years old with a valid CDL Class A license and endorsements, along with a minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months specifically in food and beverage delivery. The ability to read and communicate effectively in English is necessary for navigating routes, understanding traffic signals, and completing required documentation.
