Job Description

Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group, stands as a premier broadline distributor committed to supporting a diverse range of local customers such as independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The company fosters strong partnerships through its dedicated team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts who provide in-depth operational advice, menu development strategies, product selection guidance, and overall operational enhancement solutions. Performance Foodservice prides itself on delivering not only high-quality and delicious food products but also on going the extra mile to empower independent restaurant owners to realize and achieve their business aspirations. The company’s culture is deeply rooted in values of inclusivity, safety, respect, and recognition, cultivating an environment where employees feel valued and rewarded for their contributions.

This position centers around the critical role of food and food service delivery drivers within the extensive food supply chain. Drivers at Performance Foodservice act as pivotal connectors between the company and its customers, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of food products while preserving product integrity and quality. The role demands operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks across both intrastate and interstate routes, including local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight assignments. Delivery drivers are entrusted with maintaining compliance with stringent Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, performing essential safety inspections and contributing to the overall safety culture of the company. Beyond the technical requirements, drivers serve as the frontline ambassador for the company, engaging professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers alike. They are responsible for verifying freight accuracy, securing loads, unloading products, handling customer returns, managing cash collections where applicable, and accurately completing all pertinent delivery documentation.

Compensation for this role is competitive, offering an hourly wage of $31.20, with the added advantage of weekly pay cycles and flexible 4- or 5-day work weeks. Employees benefit from a comprehensive package including day one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, employer matching 401(k), educational assistance, paid time off, and more. The company emphasizes growth opportunities, allowing delivery drivers to develop professionally as they contribute to essential work that supports America’s food distribution infrastructure. Safety is paramount, supported by rigorous protocols and a culture that encourages prompt reporting and resolution of any issues. Drivers are empowered with the necessary tools and training to excel in their duties while maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity.

In summary, joining Performance Foodservice as a food and food service delivery driver means becoming part of a dynamic and respected organization dedicated to quality service, employee development, and customer satisfaction. This role offers a rewarding career path with stability, competitive compensation, and a supportive work environment where safety, respect, and recognition are key. If you are a qualified CDL A driver with a commitment to safety and customer service, this opportunity with Performance Foodservice allows you to make a meaningful impact within a vital industry sector, supported by a reputable leader in foodservice distribution.
