With a culture that values training, teamwork, and customer service, US Foods has established itself as a leader dedicated to supporting the local communities where it operates. As a company that thrives on innovation and customer satisfaction, it offers excellent career opportunities along with competitive compensation and benefits.
The Delivery Driver role at US Foods is a vital position within the organization, responsible for ensuring that food products are delivered safely and on time to customers. This role involves driving commercial trucks while adhering to strict safety and operational guidelines, handling product unloading, and providing exceptional customer service at each delivery stop. Drivers are expected to work a demanding schedule that ranges from 10 PM to 6 AM, covering 10 to 12 hours per day, six days a week, with overtime as needed. Starting pay begins at $35.78 per hour, with overtime compensation kicking in after 40 hours. This makes the position not only challenging but also rewarding for motivated individuals seeking stable, well-paid employment.
US Foods emphasizes the importance of safety, professionalism, and efficiency in this position. Delivery Drivers will inspect their vehicles before and after each trip to ensure all equipment is in proper working condition. The role requires physical endurance, as drivers will repeatedly lift and move products weighing between 20 to over 80 pounds, often in inclement weather conditions. Customer interactions are a key component of this job, requiring a professional demeanor and the ability to verify orders, collect signature confirmations, and handle payments when necessary. The company also stresses the value of its drivers as representatives of the brand, building trusting relationships with customers and embodying the company’s core cultural beliefs.
Applicants must meet federal and state regulatory requirements, including possessing a valid CDL Class A license, registering with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, and meeting Department of Transportation qualifications. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and have relevant commercial driving experience, ideally within food or beverage delivery sectors. US Foods prioritizes safety and compliance and supports its drivers with extensive training programs to ensure they succeed and thrive in their roles.
Joining US Foods means becoming part of a team dedicated not only to delivering top-notch food products but also to fostering a supportive work environment that values employee contributions. The company offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more, reflecting its commitment to total rewards and employee well-being. This role offers excellent career advancement opportunities and a chance to be part of an industry-leading company with a purposeful mission.
