This particular job opening is for a CDL-A Driver position, a pivotal role within the company tasked with the delivery of food and related products. The role involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on a variety of routes, including intrastate and interstate local routes, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive and drop routes. Being a face of the company to customers, drivers not only ensure timely and safe delivery but also build lasting relationships through professional and courteous interactions. This role requires a deep understanding and adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and the company’s safety guidelines. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with dispatch duties typically occurring between 3-5 AM.

Job Requirements

  • 1 year commercial driving experience
  • Meet all state licensing and or certification requirements where applicable
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Meet PFG Motor Vehicle Report MVR requirements for past 3 years
  • Pass pre employment drug test
  • Meet PFG FMCSA Clearinghouse Requirements
  • Pass road test
  • Able to secure new DOT Medical Card
  • Able to hand lift and utilize two wheeler lift gate and or other equipment to move and or stack product cases freight of varying size and weight throughout shift product generally ranges from approximately 60 to 90 pounds depending on the location
  • Must be able to work the assigned schedule required for the position
  • Ability to read write and communicate in English
  • English language proficiency is required

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety check including pre and post trip inspections of tractor truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • Inspect tractor truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed
  • Report all safety issues and or repairs required
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded
  • Check and complete in an accurate and legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight
  • Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • Ensure that tractor trailer and freight are appropriately locked and or secured at all times
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns and bring to the driver check in and complete necessary paperwork and procedures at end of shift
  • Unload all equipment materials and remove trash from trailers as required
  • Comply with daily record keeping and hours of service requirements adhering to DOT state and company policies
  • Uphold overall safety standards and follow guidelines for the proper handling of freight throughout the delivery process
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Comply with all policies and standards
