Job Description

Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group (PFG), is a leading broadline distributor specializing in foodservice delivery across the United States. Serving a diverse range of customers including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries, Performance Foodservice has built a strong reputation for reliability, quality goods, and exceptional customer service. The company is dedicated to supporting America’s food distribution system by partnering closely with customers through a knowledgeable team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other industry experts. Their goal extends beyond simply delivering food—they assist clients with menu development, operational strategies, product selection, and overall business growth, helping independent restaurateurs achieve their vision and succeed in a competitive marketplace.

The role available at Performance Foodservice is that of a delivery driver, a critical position within the company and the food supply chain. Positioned at a new warehouse facility located at 8600 Springdale Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63134, this full-time role offers a Monday to Friday schedule with occasional early morning shifts on Saturdays, requiring a commitment to the assigned schedule. To incentivize qualified candidates, the company offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus, exclusive to applicants who have not worked for any Performance Food Group owned company in the last six months.

Delivery drivers at Performance Foodservice are responsible for operating tractor trailers or straight trucks to transport food and related products efficiently and safely. These products must be delivered in excellent condition and on schedule, covering intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight routes. Beyond the logistics, these drivers represent the face of the company, fostering lasting relationships with customers through professional and respectful communication.

This position requires driving in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including conducting pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of vehicles and trailers. The driver is also responsible for reporting any safety or repair issues immediately and adhering strictly to company policies on safe driving. A critical component of the role involves ensuring all freight is properly loaded, secured, and documented. Drivers perform inventory checks against customer invoices and maintain accurate, legible paperwork. Additionally, they facilitate loading and unloading duties, assist with moving product cases using equipment like hand trucks and lift gates, and manage delivery verifications including collecting signatures and payments when required.

Performance Foodservice prides itself on a safe, inclusive, and respectful work environment where employees are valued and rewarded. The company offers day-one health and wellness benefits, a comprehensive employee stock purchase plan, 401K with employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and multiple growth opportunities. The company culture encourages teamwork and recognizes the essential contributions that delivery drivers provide to the overarching goal of supporting America's food systems. The role demands diligence in housekeeping duties, such as maintaining cleanliness of the tractor and delivery areas and securing all equipment at shift end.

Performance Foodservice is committed to equal employment opportunity for all employees and applicants, promoting diversity and inclusion without discrimination based on race, gender, age, disability, or other protected characteristics. This commitment creates a workplace where every team member feels respected and empowered to contribute.
