The position of food and food service delivery driver at Performance Foodservice is critical to maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the country’s food distribution network. The drivers are responsible for delivering food and related products using tractor trailers or straight trucks on various routes, including local, intrastate, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive and drop routes. They ensure that customers receive their orders on time, in good condition, and handled with care, effectively becoming the face of the company to the customer.

This role requires a high level of professionalism when interacting with customers, vendors, and colleagues to answer questions and provide excellent service. Drivers work as part of a team and are expected to maintain safety standards by performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. They are responsible for identifying and reporting any safety hazards, maintaining accurate paperwork, and securing freight properly throughout the entire delivery process.

The schedule for this position typically includes Monday through Friday, with dispatches averaging between 3-5 a.m. The role operates primarily on a day shift but may occasionally require weekend hours. This schedule supports the timely delivery needs of the business while maintaining a balanced work-life dynamic for employees.
