This role primarily involves safely operating delivery trucks on scheduled routes, typically from Monday through Saturday, starting notably early in the morning between 3 AM and 6 AM. While current operations are based in a given location, candidates should be prepared for a relocation to Aurora, Illinois, scheduled for mid-2026. The compensation for this role is competitive, with a base rate ranging approximately between $35.89 and $39.88 per hour, depending on relevant experience, education, specific skills, and geographical factors.

This driving position focuses not only on delivering food products efficiently and safely but also on fostering strong customer relationships through professional service and communication. Drivers will be responsible for tasks such as inspecting vehicles pre-trip and post-trip to ensure safety and compliance, unloading products using manual and mechanical methods, verifying delivery accuracy, and occasionally handling customer payments and collections. Physical readiness is important, as the job requires repetitive lifting or moving of products weighing from 20 to over 80 pounds, as well as adapting to various weather conditions while making frequent stops.

US Foods drivers are required to be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse to comply with Department of Transportation regulations, highlighting the company’s dedication to safety, regulatory compliance, and operational transparency. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months in food/beverage delivery industry
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred
  • Registered to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. repetitively
  • Comfortable working in inclement weather
  • Available to start early morning shifts Monday-Saturday

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
  • Operate manual transmission vehicles when required
