Delivery Drivers operate a range of vehicles, including tractor trailers and straight trucks, on intrastate, interstate, local, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes. The role is focused heavily on safety compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, precise handling of inventory, accurate completion of delivery-related paperwork, and professional communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
The work schedule is structured Monday through Friday with local routes that allow drivers to be home nightly and enjoy weekends off. Start times average around 6:00 a.m., subject to confirmation during interviews, enabling drivers to maintain a balanced work-life routine. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Meet all state licensing or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass road test
- Attain or have a valid current DOT health card or be able to secure a new one
- Ability to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and other equipment to move and stack product cases and freight of varying sizes and weights

Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
- Report all safety issues and repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products loaded
- Check and complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
- Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
- Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor about removing orders as per company policy
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
- Collect money where required
- Load customer returns on trailer and secure trailer doors
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns and bring to driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork
- Unload all equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean
- Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at end of shift
- Perform other related duties as assigned
