Performance Foodservice is well-known for its customer-focused approach, leveraging a team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other experts to build close, trust-based relationships with each client. These relationships enable the company to provide invaluable advice on operational improvements, menu development, product selections, and effective strategies to help independent restaurant owners and other foodservice operators thrive in a competitive marketplace. Beyond the delivery of high-quality food products, Performance Foodservice emphasizes an inclusive, safe, and rewarding work environment, stressing continuous growth and development opportunities for its employees across all levels.
The position of Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Performance Foodservice is an essential role that supports the company’s mission by ensuring that food products are delivered efficiently, safely, and on schedule. This role requires operating tractor trailers or straight trucks to transport food and related products to a variety of customers, including local deliveries and longer over-the-road routes. As frontline representatives of the company, delivery drivers are entrusted with maintaining excellent customer relationships by providing reliable, courteous service while adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
The role offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $100,000+ annually, with uncapped pay potential, quarterly safety bonuses, and unlimited referral bonuses (up to $2,500 per referral). Drivers can expect a flexible schedule with either a 4- or 5-day work week, and opportunities for additional days. Overnight routes may occur up to twice weekly, with per diem and overnight compensation about $145 per day. The company values its employees, offering a generous $5,000 sign-on bonus to new hires who haven’t been employed by any PFG-owned company in the last six months. Equipment for the job is modern and new, supporting driver performance and safety.
Performance Foodservice is committed to offering comprehensive benefits from day one, including health and wellness programs, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K with employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. The company fosters a culture of respect, recognition, and reward to retain a dedicated and effective workforce.
