As one of the largest family-managed foodservice distributors in North America, GFS operates with a strong commitment to ethical business practices, sustainability, and community engagement, ensuring a positive impact on all stakeholders and the broader foodservice ecosystem.
The role of a CDL A Delivery Driver at Gordon Food Service is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about driving and looking for a stable, rewarding career with substantial home time. This position is based in Lexington, KY, at 613 Bizzell Dr. Ste C, offering local day shifts from Monday to Friday with start times between 3 AM and 5 AM until routes are finished. Drivers enjoy a guaranteed minimum weekly pay of $1100 with the potential to earn between $60,000 to $80,000 annually, thanks to a compensation model that includes daily base pay, component pay, and payment for every mile driven, stop made, and case delivered. This encourages efficiency and dedication, rewarding drivers not just for the time spent on the road but also their active role in customer service and delivery accuracy.
As a delivery driver for GFS, you'll be responsible for delivering essential food products that keep America's foodservice industry thriving. Your day-to-day responsibilities include unloading cases weighing up to 100 pounds, utilizing a ramp and a two-wheeler cart that can handle loads up to 350 pounds, and maintaining safe handling practices throughout your route. The role requires a professional who can build strong customer relationships by delivering products promptly, accurately, and safely, emphasizing the importance of trust and reliability in the foodservice supply chain. New CDL A licensed drivers are encouraged to apply, reflecting GFS's commitment to providing growth opportunities and training for newcomers to the industry.
GFS fosters a supportive and inclusive work environment where respect, dignity, and diversity are foundational principles. The company offers comprehensive benefits starting on day one, including affordable benefits plans, wellness reimbursements, profit sharing, and a 401(k) plan with company match. Employees benefit from weekly paychecks, job stability with guaranteed routes, and career development opportunities, as 95% of leadership are promoted from within. The culture emphasizes employee well-being and advancement, making GFS an employer of choice in the foodservice distribution industry.
In addition to competitive wages and benefits, GFS is steadfast in its commitment to safety, requiring all drivers to maintain a clean driving record, pass drug and background checks (including marijuana testing), and comply with Department of Transportation regulations. The company is also a tobacco-free and drug-free workplace that supports veterans and active military members. Gordon Food Service values transparency and fairness, ensuring that each employee is treated equitably regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, veteran status, or disability.
