The company excels at delivering a diverse range of products from popcorn to healthy meal replacements, reaching customers wherever they work, play, and shop. Known for its commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and a collaborative culture, Vistar emphasizes teamwork, ethical practices, and community involvement as foundational elements of its company ethos. Their dedication has allowed them to thrive in the competitive food distribution industry, continuously expanding their reach and services.

Currently, Vistar is hiring for the role of Driver, Hourly CDL-A, a pivotal position ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products across intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight operations. This role is not only critical to maintaining the efficiency and reliability of America’s food supply chain but also plays a key part in fostering lasting relationships with customers, representing the face of the company in all interactions. The position offers a competitive pay rate starting at $31.50 per hour with a $5,000 sign-on bonus, and drivers typically earn between $70,000 and $75,000 annually including overtime pay. Pay raises occur progressively every six months in the first two years and annually thereafter, with overtime compensated after 40 hours per week.

One overnight shift per week is required, with the company providing hotel accommodations and a per diem for those overnight stays. Depending on business needs after full onboarding, drivers may occasionally have up to two overnight shifts per week. Notably, there are no weekend shifts, highlighting the company’s commitment to work-life balance for its drivers.

This role is essential for ensuring that customers receive their orders intact, on schedule, and handled with the utmost care. Drivers are responsible for conducting all required safety inspections, adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and maintaining open and professional communications with customers, vendors, and coworkers. Daily duties involve operating tractor trailers or straight trucks, loading and unloading freight, verifying order accuracy, securing products, and completing all associated documentation reliably and legibly.

At Vistar, the working environment prioritizes safety, inclusivity, and continuous growth. Employees benefit from an engaging workplace where rewards, recognition, and respect are integral to the culture. The company also provides extensive benefits from day one, including health and wellness plans, employee stock purchase plans, 401(k) employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off.
