The company has built a strong reputation through its unique and lasting relationships with a wide range of local customers. These include independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. Performance Foodservice distinguishes itself by offering more than just product deliveries; a dedicated team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and other industry experts collaborates closely with customers to provide strategic advice on operations improvement, menu development, product selection, and various operational strategies. This commitment to customer success contributes directly to the growth and success of local businesses and fulfills the company’s overarching mission of supporting independent restaurant owners in realizing their entrepreneurial dreams.
Performance Foodservice is currently seeking reliable and motivated Food and Food Service Delivery Drivers to join its dynamic team. This vital role offers an employment opportunity that is full-time with scheduled dispatch hours between 3 am to 5 am, Monday through Friday, providing a consistent and stable work schedule. The position boasts strong earning potential, with salaries exceeding $90,000 annually, alongside a competitive benefits package. Drivers are integral members of the supply chain, ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products. As the face of the company, drivers cultivate lasting relationships with customers, representing the company’s values of professionalism, safety, and customer respect. The role involves operating both tractor trailers and straight trucks across intrastate and interstate routes, including local deliveries, over-the-road shipments (OTR), shuttling, and overnight drive-and-drop routes. Drivers conduct pre- and post-trip inspections following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company standards to maintain safety and compliance.
The role requires a proactive approach to safety, vehicle maintenance reporting, and adhering strictly to DOT regulations and internal policies. Delivery duties encompass verifying freight loading and securing, handling paperwork accurately, facilitating customer sign-offs, and managing cash or check collections when necessary. Beyond driving, drivers assist with unloading products and transporting items into designated storage areas at customer sites, including performing necessary damage control and return processing. The job also involves completing daily records of hours of service in compliance with Federal and state regulations. Drivers maintain cleanliness and order within their tractor and trailers and contribute to housekeeping at the loading docks.
Performance Foodservice offers an inclusive and supportive work environment where employee contributions are valued, recognized, and rewarded. The company promotes a culture of respect and excellence, creating a safe workplace that fosters career growth opportunities within the food distribution industry. Employees benefit immediately from comprehensive health and wellness plans, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K employer matching, educational assistance, paid time off, and other robust rewards. This role is suited for candidates with a valid CDL class A license, sound driving records, and a commitment to safety and customer service. The position provides an exciting career path for individuals who want to play an essential role in America’s food supply chain and contribute to the success of local foodservice operations.
