This Delivery Driver role at Core-Mark Linthicum Heights, Maryland location is pivotal to supporting America's food supply chain by ensuring timely and secure delivery of food and foodservice products. The position offers competitive pay starting at $20 per hour, plus performance incentives and quarterly bonuses, with average annual earnings between $80,000 and $100,000 or more depending on performance. The role has a Monday through Friday schedule with local routes, providing the driver the advantage of returning home nightly and having weekends off. Delivery drivers at Core-Mark are the face of the company to the customers and are responsible not only for the transport but also the maintenance of strong, positive customer relationships.

The driver’s key responsibilities include operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate local, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes. Strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations is mandatory, alongside pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure safety standards are met. Drivers are responsible for verifying the proper loading and securement of freight, accurate documentation and inventory checks, unloading products at customer locations, performing damage control, and collecting payments where applicable. The role demands excellent communication skills to address questions and concerns professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Additionally, drivers collaborate as part of the wider team within the department and organization, taking on any tasks necessary to uphold the company’s service quality and safety standards.

Candidates for this position must hold a valid CDL-A license, be at least 21 years old, possess a clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past three years, and successfully pass a road test. They must also have or be able to secure a DOT Health Card. Physical capability is important as the role involves handling freight products typically ranging in weight from 10 to 90 pounds using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates. Preferred qualifications include one or more years of experience in foodservice distribution, proficiency with onboard computers and electronic logging systems such as PeopleNet, familiarity with handheld point-of-delivery scanning devices, and customer service experience.

Core-Mark stands firmly on equal opportunity employment principles, welcoming applicants regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. The company provides reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities throughout the application process.
