The Food and Food Service Delivery Driver role at Core-Mark plays a critical part in the country’s food supply chain, ensuring that food products reach customers timely and in excellent condition. This position involves driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various routes including intrastate, interstate, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop runs. Drivers represent the company’s face while building lasting relationships with customers by delivering excellent service throughout their routes. The pay structure rewards every stop, load, and mile, with annual earnings ranging between $75,000 and $85,000. The typical work schedule runs Sunday through Thursday, with four days on and one day on-call, while dispatch times vary by shift and are discussed in the interview process.

Drivers are responsible for conducting thorough safety inspections following Department of Transportation regulations, maintaining the operational integrity of the tractor-trailer and trailer, and reporting any safety issues or hazards immediately. They verify freight counts, examine delivery paperwork for accuracy, and ensure proper loading and securing of products. Drivers also handle unloading, damage control, verification of delivered items with customers, securing trailers, and maintaining vehicle and delivery area cleanliness and organization. Completing daily logs, adhering to DOT and company policies, and supporting team efforts within the department are additional essential duties. The role demands physical activity, including hand-lifting and using equipment to manage freight typically weighing between 10 to 90 pounds, depending on location and shipment specifics.

Core-Mark values safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction, providing drivers with the tools and support needed to succeed in a dynamic and essential role that supports America’s food distribution network. This position requires a valid CDL-A, 21 years or older age, clean driving record, and compliance with health and drug testing standards, ensuring the highest quality standards are upheld throughout the delivery process.
