Job Description

Performance Foodservice, a premier broadline distributor under Performance Food Group (PFG), plays a vital role in the foodservice distribution industry. Known for its commitment to supplying fresh, quality food products, the company maintains close partnerships with a diverse clientele including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. Through a dedicated team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts, Performance Foodservice delivers not just food but comprehensive advice aimed at helping its customers improve operations, develop menus, select optimal products, and innovate operational strategies. This multi-faceted approach has enabled Performance Foodservice to become a trusted leader in the food distribution sector, renowned for supporting independent restaurant owners and other foodservice providers in achieving their business goals.

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safe and timely delivery of food and related products by driving tractor trailers or straight trucks on various routes, including intrastate and interstate travel, local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR) routes, shuttles, and overnight deliveries. Some routes may involve 1-2 day layovers.

Delivery drivers at Performance Foodservice are considered essential contributors to the country’s food supply chain. The role includes customer interaction, loading and unloading freight, completing accurate documentation, handling cash or checks when required, and maintaining the cleanliness and security of the vehicle and trailer.

Performance Foodservice offers a supportive work environment that values safety, inclusivity, rewards, recognition, and respect. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package from day one, including health and wellness benefits, employee stock purchase plans, 401K with employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. These benefits, along with opportunities for growth within the company, make Performance Foodservice a great place for industrial athletes who are ready to take on the physical demands and responsibilities of this vital position.
