Job Description
Schneider is a leading transportation and logistics company renowned for its commitment to safety, innovation, and driver satisfaction. With a robust network spanning the United States, Schneider has established itself as an industry leader by offering comprehensive freight services that prioritize timely delivery and superior customer service. Specializing in dedicated trucking solutions, Schneider supports its drivers with top-notch equipment, advanced technology, and a culture that values diversity and inclusion. The company invests heavily in its workforce, ensuring that drivers have the resources, training, and benefits necessary to succeed and thrive in their careers.
This particular position is for a dedicated truck driver role supporting Dollar General freight routes. The opportunity offers full-time employment with a competitive average weekly pay ranging from $1,580 to $1,930. Drivers enjoy weekly home time which is a significant advantage for maintaining work-life balance. The role involves hauling retail freight on liftgate trailers, with a focus on hand unloading freight using rolltainers. The routes primarily cover western states including Arizona, California, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Drivers typically handle two loads per week, each involving multiple stop-offs, allowing them to develop familiarity with their routes and build a strong relationship with customers.
Compensation consists of mileage pay, load pay, and hourly pay for on-duty but not driving time. There are additional incentives such as weekly performance pay, a generous $3,000 sign-on bonus (paid over 12 months) for experienced drivers, paid orientation, and paid time off after six months of service. Holiday pay is also provided for six days annually, along with an annual bonus of up to 2% of the gross pay.
Schneider prioritizes driver comfort and safety with leading equipment and technology designed for a superior driving experience. The company also supports military veterans through credit for military experience and apprenticeship programs, reflecting its commitment to inclusivity and respect for diverse backgrounds.
Beyond the tangible benefits, Schneider fosters an inclusive culture grounded in dignity, respect, and equal opportunity. The company embraces diversity across various dimensions such as race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, ability, and veteran status which enhances innovation and leadership within the organization. Schneider’s rigorous hiring process follows compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and utilizes E-Verify to ensure lawful employment eligibility.
For applicants who need CDL training, Schneider offers company-paid CDL training programs, enabling new drivers to start their careers with strong foundational skills.
As a dedicated driver with Schneider on the Dollar General account, you will experience a fulfilling career where you get to know your routes and customers intimately. The satisfaction of keeping freight moving and contributing to the logistical success of a major retailer provides immense pride. The all-encompassing pay packages, combined with opportunities for yearly pay increases and performance bonuses, make this role both rewarding and stable. Join a team that values hard work, safety, and driver well-being in a supportive and inclusive environment.
