Job Description
Schneider is a leading transportation and logistics company known for its commitment to safety, reliability, and driver satisfaction. With decades of experience in the industry, Schneider specializes in dedicated truck driving services that connect customers with their goods efficiently across a wide range of routes and regions. They provide professional drivers with state-of-the-art equipment and technology designed for comfort and safety, ensuring a supportive and rewarding work environment. Schneider values inclusivity and diversity in the workplace, fostering a culture where every associate is treated with dignity and respect, which is vital for innovation, strategic thinking, and leadership development. The company supports veterans, offers military apprenticeship programs, and embraces equal opportunity employment practices, making it a top choice for career-driven drivers who seek stability and growth.
The role of a Dedicated Truck Driver at Schneider offers a full-time position with competitive weekly pay ranging from $1,360 to $1,660. Drivers are assigned to haul beer and dunnage cargo in dry van trailers, with routes spanning across multiple states, including Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, North Dakota, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Texas. This position emphasizes 100% no-touch freight handling and about 65% drop-and-hook loads, promoting efficiency and reducing physical labor for drivers. Typically, drivers handle between 5 to 10 loads per week, providing a consistent and manageable workload that balances productivity with quality of life.
In addition to the primary mileage pay, drivers receive hourly pay while on duty but not driving, ensuring they are compensated fairly for their time. Experienced drivers qualify for a $5,000 sign-on bonus, while those new to the industry receive $2,000, both distributed over 12 months during their first year. Schneider also offers paid orientation and paid time off after six months of employment, including six holidays annually. Moreover, drivers are eligible for an annual bonus of up to 2% of their gross pay, underscoring the company’s dedication to reward performance and loyalty. Another key benefit is the reliable home time, with drivers returning home every other week, enabling a solid work-life balance.
Schneider is recognized for fostering familiarity in its dedicated driving teams, allowing drivers to build deep working relationships with customers and become well-acquainted with their specific routes. This approach enhances job satisfaction and efficiency. Alongside competitive pay and dependable schedules, Schneider offers a comprehensive benefit package comprising medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with a company match, and unlimited referral bonuses. The company also provides leading equipment, technology designed for driver comfort, and military-related benefits. The commitment to safety, driver wellbeing, and career development makes Schneider an employer of choice for Class A CDL holders looking for secure and rewarding truck driving careers.
