Job Description
Schneider National, Inc. is a well-established leader in the transportation and logistics industry, known for providing reliable, efficient, and innovative freight solutions across North America. With decades of experience, Schneider has built a reputation for excellence by prioritizing customer satisfaction, safety, and environmental responsibility. As a large-scale trucking and logistics company, Schneider offers a wide range of services including dedicated, regional, and long-haul freight, utilizing cutting-edge technology and a diverse fleet to meet various shipping needs.
The company is currently seeking dedicated Reefer truck drivers to join their team for exclusive service routes delivering to Costco stores. This role is specifically designed for Class A CDL holders who are interested in operating refrigerated and dry van freight trucks within Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Positioned as a full-time company driver role, it offers competitive weekly compensation ranging from $1,160 to $1,420, emphasizing steady home time with weekly returns allowing drivers to balance work and personal life effectively.
This Dedicated Reefer truck driver role involves hauling preloaded refrigerated and dry van freight to Costco stores, featuring primarily no-touch freight operations – meaning drivers do minimal handling of the goods. About 80% of the freight consists of drop-and-hook operations, which simplifies the loading and unloading process, enabling drivers to maintain a consistent schedule and focus on safe, efficient driving. Drivers will handle approximately 3 to 5 loads per week, driving within the specified tri-state area of AR, OK, and TX, ensuring familiarity and predictability in daily routes.
A significant aspect of this role includes performing slow-speed maneuvers and complex backing procedures, requiring drivers to possess precise control and situational awareness. Schneider emphasizes not only driving skills but also providing drivers with the latest equipment and technological systems designed for safety, comfort, and ease of operation, enhancing the overall driving experience.
The compensation package includes mileage pay as well as hourly pay for on-duty, non-driving time, establishing a comprehensive pay structure that rewards all facets of the driver's responsibilities. Weekly performance pay incentivizes high standards of delivery and operational efficiency. Additionally, new hires receive fully paid orientation, allowing them to integrate smoothly into the company culture and operational expectations.
Further benefits include paid time off after six months of employment, plus six days of holiday pay annually, promoting work-life balance and employee well-being. Drivers are also eligible for an annual bonus, enabling them to earn up to 2% of their annual gross pay each year based on performance. Schneider supports career development by offering company-paid CDL training programs for those seeking to obtain their commercial driver’s license, fostering growth opportunities within the company.
Schneider’s inclusive culture is a core part of their identity, valuing diversity in thought, race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability status, military background, and more. This supportive environment ensures all employees have equal access to opportunities and resources, driving innovation and leadership. The company provides accommodations during the hiring process consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), highlighting its commitment to fairness and inclusivity.
Drivers joining Schneider will benefit from a predictable and dependable paycheck structure, which reflects the consistent miles and duties inherent to the dedicated account. The familiar routes and relationships with customers such as Costco foster a sense of community and job satisfaction. Comprehensive benefit packages including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company matching, and other perks underscore Schneider’s commitment to employee welfare.
Overall, this Dedicated Reefer truck driver role represents an excellent opportunity for experienced CDL holders seeking consistent, well-compensated routes with strong company support, professional growth potential, and a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
