Job Description

Schneider is a leading transportation and logistics company known for its dedication to driver safety, career growth, and delivering excellent service to its customers. With decades of experience in the trucking industry, Schneider has built a reputation for reliability, innovation, and an inclusive company culture that values diversity and respect for all employees. The company operates a wide network across the United States, providing solutions that range from dedicated routes to regional and long-haul driving assignments. Schneider’s commitment to advanced technology and driver comfort ensures that its fleet stays at the forefront of industry standards.

This role is for a Dedicated Nighttime Truck Driver based in the Western United States. Specifically, the driver will haul sporting goods using dry van trailers to and from retail stores. The position offers a weekly average pay between $1,125 and $1,375 with dependable weekly paychecks reflecting consistent mileage. Drivers will experience regular home time every other week, which enhances work-life balance and job satisfaction.

This job involves predominantly no-touch freight (100%), with half of the loads being drop-and-hook, allowing for efficient load handling. Drivers can expect to manage 2 to 4 loads weekly, with 1 to 3 stop-offs per load, performing complex maneuvers such as slow-speed navigation and backing into tight spaces. The geographical scope covers the Western 11 states, providing a familiar and manageable route network.

The compensation package includes mileage pay combined with hourly pay for on-duty, non-driving time. There is also attractive additional pay like weekly performance bonuses, an annual bonus of up to 2% of annual gross pay, plus sign-on bonuses of $5,000 for experienced drivers and $3,000 for those new to the industry, paid monthly over the first year. Paid orientation and paid time off after six months employment, including six days of holiday pay annually, add further value to the role.

Candidates must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and be willing to work nighttime schedules. This position requires living within 60 miles of San Bernardino, CA to ensure proximity to the route starting point. Schneider offers company-sponsored CDL training programs for those aspiring to become commercial drivers, emphasizing its investment in new talent development.

Beyond pay and schedule, Schneider provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company matching contributions, and an unlimited referral bonus program. Military veterans receive credit for their experience through specialized programs and diverse military benefits. Drivers enjoy access to modern equipment and driver-friendly technology designed to enhance comfort and safety on the road.

Schneider is committed to an inclusive workplace, valuing diversity across various dimensions from ethnicity and gender to veteran status and disability. This culture promotes equal opportunities and fosters an environment where all employees can thrive, innovate, and lead. The company adheres to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), offering reasonable accommodations to applicants and employees during the hiring process and employment.

Utilizing E-Verify ensures that all newly hired associates are eligible to work in the United States. Overall, this role offers a robust career opportunity for CDL drivers seeking a structured, well-compensated nighttime position with regular home time, strong benefits, and a supportive employer in Schneider.
