Job Description

Schneider is a leading transportation and logistics company recognized for its commitment to driver safety, excellence, and superior customer service. With decades of experience in the industry, Schneider operates a vast network of freight delivery across the United States, providing reliable and efficient transportation solutions. The company specializes in a variety of freight types, including dedicated routes that foster strong partnerships with customers and provide drivers with consistent schedules and steady income. Schneider's dedication to inclusivity and respect for diversity ensures a supportive and welcoming workplace environment for all employees.

This position is for a Dedicated Nighttime Truck Driver operating within Schneider’s Western 11-state region. The role involves hauling sporting goods to and from retail stores using dry van trailers, with a focus on 100% no-touch freight and approximately 50% drop-and-hook loads. Drivers regularly perform slow-speed maneuvers and complex backing maneuvers to ensure precise delivery and secure loading and unloading processes. The typical load volume ranges from 2 to 4 loads weekly, with 1 to 3 stop-offs per load, allowing for a manageable and consistent workload.

This full-time company driver role offers competitive compensation, with average weekly earnings between $1,125 and $1,375, combining mileage pay and hourly pay for on-duty but non-driving times. Drivers can also qualify for a generous sign-on bonus—$5,000 for experienced CDL holders and $2,000 for those less experienced—paid over the first year in 12 monthly installments. Additional compensation includes weekly performance pay, paid orientation, paid time off after 6 months, holiday pay, and an annual bonus of up to 2% of annual gross pay.

The job requires candidates to hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and to live within 60 miles of San Bernardino, California. Nighttime driving experience or willingness to work night shifts is mandatory due to the nature of the dedicated routes. Schneider offers company-paid CDL training programs for those seeking to enter the profession, making this an accessible opportunity for new drivers as well.

Schneider provides an extensive benefits package that supports the wellbeing and financial security of its drivers. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company matching, unlimited referral bonuses, and credit for military experience and apprenticeship programs. The equipment used is top of the line, designed with driver comfort in mind, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable driving experience.

Choosing Schneider means reliable home time with schedules that allow drivers to plan their personal lives effectively, dependable weekly paychecks reflecting consistent miles driven, and the opportunity to gain familiarity with routes and build strong relationships with customers. Schneider’s inclusive culture encourages diversity of thought and background, fostering innovation, strategic thinking, and leadership development across its workforce. Candidates will find a workplace that values dignity, respect, and equal access to opportunities. The company complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and participates in E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility. Overall, this role offers an excellent career path for CDL holders seeking a steady, well-compensated driving career within a respected and forward-thinking transportation company.
