Job Description
Averitt Express is a well-established transportation and logistics company with a strong reputation for reliability and excellent customer service. Specialized in freight management and delivery, Averitt Express operates primarily across the southeastern United States, offering varied transportation solutions that meet the needs of numerous industries. Known for its commitment to employee satisfaction and operational efficiency, the company fosters a supportive environment for drivers and logistics personnel alike, making it a preferred employer in the trucking and transportation sector.
The role of a CDL-A Dedicated Local Truck Driver at Averitt Express offers a unique opportunity to join a company that values consistency, safety, and employee well-being. This position focuses on local routes, allowing drivers to enjoy the benefit of being home daily. The job features predictable schedules with established routes and regular customers, ensuring that each workweek is stable and transparent. Drivers will be hauling a range of freight including food products, miscellaneous goods, and furniture to major retailers across Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina utilizing a mix of reefer and dry van loads. Notably, all freight is no-touch, reducing physical strain and promoting safer working conditions.
With competitive compensation packages including weekly earnings averaging between $1,310 and $1,460, complemented by stop pay and additional incentives such as detention and breakdown pay, drivers are adequately rewarded for their dedication and professionalism. The company offers a comprehensive one-week paid training program for qualified candidates to become proficient with its operations and equipment, even for those new to refrigerated loads. This training program demands at least one year of verifiable CDL-A tractor-trailer experience within the past five years.
The working schedule aims for balance, typically five days per week with possible work on weekends, and includes both day and night shifts depending on the driver’s preference. The opportunity to bid on routes biannually based on seniority grants drivers some flexibility and career advancement options within the company. In addition to excellent pay and home time, Averitt Express extends benefits such as paid time off including holidays, health insurance covering medical, dental, vision, and hearing, profit sharing, referral rewards, and promising career growth opportunities to cultivate leadership and regional roles.
Ideal for experienced CDL-A holders who value steady routes, competitive pay, and a supportive workplace, this position at Averitt Express bridges the gap between demanding long-haul jobs and the stability that comes with local trucking. With safety and employee welfare as priorities, this role ensures drivers can confidently deliver their freight while maintaining personal work-life balance and professional growth.
