Sysco is currently seeking dependable and skilled Class A CDL Backhaul Delivery Truck Drivers to join its dynamic team. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of tractor-trailer units, transporting double or potentially triple trailers between system facilities and shuttle yards. Drivers will play a vital role in maintaining the seamless flow of products within the distribution network. Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Pass all employment screening processes
- Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver License
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public and understand traffic signs
- Meet physical demands including lifting and moving freight weighing 40-60 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and across assigned route schedules
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
Job Qualifications
- Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver License
- Meet company insurability standards with a clean driving record
- Demonstrate ability to read, speak, and understand English sufficiently for communication and traffic compliance
- Have physical capability to handle freight up to 100 pounds
- Display excellent driving skills and knowledge of safety regulations
- Exhibit strong customer service skills
- Maintain punctuality and reliability
Job Duties
- Operate tractor-trailer safely and efficiently
- Transport double or triple trailers between Sysco facilities and shuttle yards
- Build positive relationships with customers by understanding their operational needs
- Ensure compliance with company safety and transportation policies
- Load and unload products as needed following assigned route schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to delivery and transportation activities
