Job Requirements
- 21 plus years of age
- Pass employment screening
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to inquiries, and complete reports
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with a driving record meeting company insurability standards
- Physical ability to handle freight weighing 40 to 60 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Willingness to unload and deliver various products on assigned route schedules
Job Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a driving record that meets company insurability standards
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to communicate with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports
- Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic
- Previous experience operating commercial tractor-trailers preferred but not mandatory
- Good physical condition to handle freight and operate vehicles safely
Job Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailer units to transport doubles and triples between Sysco facilities and shuttle yards
- Build positive relationships with customers by maintaining a friendly and professional attitude
- Become familiar with customer operations to meet specific needs and expectations
- Handle freight including lifting, pushing, or moving products weighing 40-60 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Follow company and safety regulations to ensure compliance during transport
- Load and unload products as required on assigned route schedules
- Participate in ongoing training and adhere to company standards to improve performance and safety
