Operating a diverse array of services including scheduled flights across the U.S., Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean, as well as charter and cargo operations worldwide, Sun Country offers a dynamic and growth-oriented working environment. The airline prides itself on fostering a supportive and ambitious team culture that prioritizes the safety and well-being of employees, travelers, and the broader community. This approach not only advances its business goals but also cultivates a workplace where employees can grow and thrive.
The role of Catering/Commissary Driver at Sun Country Airlines is a vital position responsible for the safe and efficient preparation and delivery of catering products to aircraft and the retrieval of used carts. With a focus on teamwork combined with independent responsibility, this position ensures all flight documentation is verified for accuracy and engages actively in problem-solving alongside customer service teams. The driver must rigorously comply with all operating procedures related to driving and positioning vehicles at aircraft, maintaining safety and efficiency at all times. This role requires someone who can manage multiple priorities effectively and coordinate with a broad team to meet operational schedules. Working hours are flexible and may include nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the airline’s operational needs. The work environment is varied, with responsibilities performed both indoors in warehouse settings and outdoors in variable weather conditions, sometimes under loud airport noise.
Starting at $18.50 per hour and classified as a part-time, non-exempt position based in Minneapolis, MN, the Catering/Commissary Driver is provided access to substantial employee benefits including free standby flights from day one, discounted travel for family and friends, 401(k) matching, paid sick time off, and an employee assistance program offering counseling services. As a significant part of Sun Country’s expanding operations, this role offers both stability and the opportunity to develop within a unique airline that values its people and their diverse perspectives. Successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances including an MSP SIDA badge with a CBP seal, alongside a valid driver's license and clean driving record. The physical demands of the job require the ability to lift and move substantial weights and work at heights, underscoring the need for a dedicated and capable individual committed to operational excellence and safety. This position demands strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to meeting the needs of teammates and travelers alike.
