The position available is for a Catering Supervisor, a critical role within the company’s catering operations division. This part-time role offers an hourly wage of $25.00 and includes benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. The Catering Supervisor works closely with the Catering Manager and contributes significantly to the profitable management of catering operations. With a focus on maintaining high service standards and compliance, this role involves overseeing catering events from start to finish, actively mentoring and training hourly employees and volunteers to meet organizational quality benchmarks. The supervisor ensures operational excellence by managing employee relations, enforcing alcohol service policies, and supporting all event logistics. The role demands a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency including computer and POS system skills, and the ability to work a variable, event-driven schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent
  • 2-3 years related catering or concessions experience
  • Certification in advanced food service sanitation
  • Knowledge of inventory cost control and menu planning
  • Proficiency in E-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook, and scheduling software
  • Experience with POS and timekeeping systems
  • Cash handling and math skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Strong communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • 2-3 years related experience in catering or concessions
  • Nationally recognized, advanced food service sanitation training course certification
  • Familiar with inventory cost control and menu planning
  • Medium computer proficiency: E-mail, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Schedule+
  • Working knowledge of POS and timekeeping systems
  • Cash handling abilities and basic math skills, including significant number manipulation
  • Ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required), depending upon event and business requirements
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Assists in the overall effective supervision of Catering and Premium operations
  • Ensures total compliance with all alcohol service policies
  • Monitors alcohol service throughout the event to ensure 100 percent compliance with Alcohol Service policies
  • Reports any alcohol service or compliance issues to management immediately
  • Provides ongoing supervision and mentoring to hourly event staff
  • Monitor product quality and ensure a high level of guest service
  • Assists in event opening and closing, as necessary
  • Generates event employee schedules and verifies employee time as required
  • Assist in the ongoing training and development of hourly employees, as directed by department managers
  • Responsible for completing documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy and practice
  • Assist in the supervision of catered events from set-up to tear-down, including handling all communication with hourly staff, culinary staff, and guests
