The Catering Supervisor position at Legends Global involves working directly under the Catering Manager and is a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of banquet functions. This full-time role comes with a competitive hourly wage of $27.01, emphasizing the company's commitment to attracting skilled professionals who are passionate about delivering outstanding guest service. The Catering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the setup and cleanup of all banquet events, coordinating with various teams including housemen, stewarding, and food and beverage service to ensure each function runs flawlessly. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage inventories of equipment, small wares, disposables, and beverages, and to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety according to health regulations.

In addition to managing event logistics, the Catering Supervisor is expected to communicate effectively with clients, greet them upon arrival, respond to their requests, and lead pre-event staff meetings to ensure everyone is briefed on event particulars and expectations. The position demands multitasking capabilities, a keen eye for detail, and the physical stamina to perform tasks that involve lifting and extended periods of reaching, bending, stooping, and pulling. Furthermore, the Catering Supervisor assists in planning, organizing, and executing all banquet functions, adapting quickly to any last-minute changes coordinated with Facilities, Catering, and Culinary teams. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college preferred
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age
  • CA Food Handlers Certification
  • CA Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to make quick and accurate decisions
  • Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism
  • Ability to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items
  • Must be able to read, speak and write English language in order to communicate with guests
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time

Job Duties

  • Oversee set-up and clean-up for all banquet functions
  • Provide guests with the best possible service
  • Responsible for the inventory of equipment, small wares, disposables, and beverages
  • Supervise housemen and stewarding team during the set-up and break-down of events
  • Coordinate the movement of beverages and equipment for all events
  • Supervise food and beverage service and event room set-up and clean up
  • Assist with the planning, organizing and execution of all functions
  • Greet clients in charge and respond to requests
  • Speak at roll call meetings prior to events to inform staff about event particulars and expectations
  • Oversee general cleaning tasks using standard products as assigned to adhere to health standards
  • Check with Facilities, Catering and Culinary for any last-minute changes
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Catering Management
